AUSTERITY AND DECADENCE - YORK DOES VINTAGE

York Does Vintage at Merchant Adventurers' Hall, Fossgate, York

York Does Vintage at the fourteenth century Merchant Adventurers' Hall in York this weekend encapsulated both  the austerity and decadence of the last 100 years.
Glance at the photos and travel back in time.

The hall is also a museum
Racks of colourful dresses

The impressive entrance

The gardens are beautiful - even in February

And coffee too....

Just your cup of tea I think. Looks like you really enjoyed all the goods on show - and the coffee of course! X

It was a wonderful way to reminisce - though even I don't remember the fourteenth century!

I'm so glad you agree, Nikki-ann.My daughter lives in York now and she appreciates how lucky she is. Her husband, who was born there, does sometimes take it for granted!

I love your photos Marilyn. The Merchant Adventurers' Hall looks like somewhere I would like to visit. I might even stop off there next time I'm in York. My daughter is currently as university there so we visit the city from time to time. It's a lovely place. :)

I can't think of a better place to be at uni, Heather.
Especially if you love history!

Hi Terry - I came out of hospital in a wheelchair a few years ago and the world looked like a different place! Hope you're back on your feet again very soon. :)

Hi, Marilyn, I’m so sad I didn’t get to go. This looks like just my cup of tea (or coffee!)

Yes, Barbara - definitely your cup of coffee. I feel I know you even though we've never met...:)
