My father was a football journalist and I can still remember him crying - I'd never seen him do that before - after the Manchester United plane crash back in the fifties. It's always tragic, Willie, when young people lose their lives without fulfilling their ambitions.

Sorry to bother...But l was watching a repeat of 'Antiques Roadshow" last night, regarding 80yrs anniversary of the Battle of Britain, and the Blitz..half way through an item regarding Guernsey and Jersey was mentioned with a couple of stories of interest, there were no valuations made, as it was all historical and all very personal..... A man has appeared in court in connection with the plane crash which killed footballer Emiliano Sala, a pre-inquest hearing was told.
The plane carrying 28-year-old Sala and pilot David Ibbotson crashed into the English Channel in January 2019.
David Henderson, 66, pleaded not guilty to offences under the Air Navigation Order in September.
The full inquest at Bournemouth Coroner's Court was adjourned until after the trial in 2022.
Matthew Reeve, representing Mr Sala's family, said the delay to holding a full inquest would be a "severe blow" to them...
